Beautiful couture quality 1920s dress in taupe silk satin and ecru net lace! The construction on this piece is amazing – it consists of several layers. The bodice features layers of net lace over taupe satin, with an additional interior cream silk chemise as well as interior waist stays. Each layer closes with a series of snaps and/or hooks. Additional snap closures down the skirt to about hip level. The lace work is intricate and very fine. Stylized fuchsia flowers and scrolling art nouveau style motifs. Giant art nouveau statement buckle at front dropped waist in elegantly twining metal and accented with bright red and blue rhinestones.

Condition: Great. Wearable and absolutely lovely. Upon inspection there are some breaks to the net at top of left shoulder (likely from a hanger) and a couple tiny breaks elsewhere not noticeable. repair to silk at left underarm, and some breaks at right underarm (there are several layers beneath that offer stability, as well as a lace overlay layer to the dress, so these are not visible at all when the dress is worn. A couple holes pinhead-1/4" near hem on back hanging silk panel over skirt. A few loose snaps, a couple missing snap ends.
