Novelty Lipstick Print Cotton Smock , 1930s - 40s

Novelty Lipstick Print Cotton Smock , 1930s - 40s

Late 1930s-early 40s novelty print cotton smock by Barmon, known for making a line of “art-styled” smocks and dresses from the early 30s until the early 40s. This is a wonderful example with surrealist details like lip-shaped applique pockets!! Bright cyan blue and rich red. Great tailoring, with well placed pleats and gathers, puffed shoulders, and elegant oversized silhouette. Red plastic buttons. The print features lipstick, hands, lady faces, flowers, and powder puffs. Just amazing.
